Clinical trials help to shape the future of medicine. That’s why Clinical Trials Ontario (CTO) is delighted to celebrate International Clinical Trials Day on Monday, May 20, 2019.
Clinical Trials Ontario is a collaborator in an international group working on ways to enhance meaningful patient engagement in developing new medicines. The Patient-Focused Medicines Development initiative, which includes CTO, recently published a paper in the journal BMJ Innovations. The paper provides guidance and core principles which can be applied and adapted across the medicines’ development lifecycle, at the start, during, or even at the evaluation stage of a project.
In response to industry feedback, CTO will be piloting a QuickSTART program to streamline clinical trial start-up in Ontario institutions. We will be looking for partners in this pilot. Please contact Linnea Aasen-Johnston at linnea.johnston@ctontario.ca to learn more.
