In March 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, most clinical research across Ontario stopped abruptly. As the healthcare system in Ontario moves through the stages of re-opening, we have seen incredible collaboration between healthcare sites, ethics boards and study sponsors, with the focus on a safe return to research. The changes implemented now will allow for research to continue in the COVID-19 era and may in fact improve clinical trial processes in Ontario in the future.
On August 12th, Clinical Trials Ontario will host a roundtable webinar to share some of the initiatives occurring across Ontario’s clinical research ecosystem in order to facilitate the re-start of clinical trials. This round table will focus primarily on the solutions for remote monitoring, as well as the current and future challenges for remote quality assurance of clinical trials in the COVID-19 era. Please join us to hear from a panel of experts from Ontario sites, to ask questions and to discuss ongoing solutions.
