Patients are beginning to have more engagement in the design and data analysis of clinical trials and in the interpretation or dissemination of clinical trial results. There has also been limited sex/gender reporting in clinical trial research. Our Phase 1 Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded project allowed us to develop two decision aids (one for patients and one for investigators) to provide knowledge about sex/gender and to help patients and investigators determine if they were ‘ready’ to engage as/with a patient partner in a clinical trial.
Funding from the Ontario SPOR Support Unit (OSSU) is now allowing us to do further patient-oriented research (POR) training and disseminate our decision aids to multi-stakeholders across Ontario (Phase 2). We are inviting interested patients and investigators to join us in a 1.5 hour virtual POR training session that includes an overview of the decisions and to provide us with feedback on decision aids over the coming months. Your feedback about the decision aids will help us continue to improve them.
If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please sign up to register for a webinar about using the decision aids. We will be hosting the same webinar on multiple dates to allow for flexibility of schedules. Once you have registered for a webinar you will receive your individual link to attend.
