Elise Johnson

As the Director of Communications at Clinical Trials Ontario, Elise leads strategic communications efforts to promote Ontario’s world-class clinical trials sector.  She collaborates with the team to increase engagement in CTO programs, including Stream and QuickSTART, and she plays a leading role in the annual CTO conference. Elise also works closely with the Director of Patient and Public Engagement to amplify patient perspectives and raise awareness about the value of clinical trials.

A highly experienced communicator in Canada’s health and life sciences community, Elise has worked with a wide variety of organizations at both national and provincial levels, including funding agencies, research networks, member associations, and health innovation organizations. Elise is the founder of Paperwhite, a health-focused communications agency. She holds a Master of Professional Communication degree from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Humanities degree from Carleton University.
